The Honda Civic is well known among tuners and grocery go-getters alike. Its popularity is undeniable and it ranks as one of the top vehicles in the sport compact market. The 2006 Honda Civic Si is no exception and its bold style should keep it dominating the sport compact market in the future.

Honda unveiled its latest creation at the Las Vegas Convention Center for SEMA 2005 showcasing several models that were customized by some of the top builders in the US. A special Sport Concept model was designed by Honda itself featuring a carbon wide body, centered exhaust and a stance that let’s you know it means business. The Sport Concept Si was painted Anniversary White Pearl celebrating the Civics 20th Anniversary in America.

The Civic Si in its stock form will come with an all new 2.0l DOHC i-VTEC K20A3 engine boasting 197hp @ 7800 RPM and 139 lb-ft torque @ 6300 RPM. If the 6 Speed manual transmission doesn’t get you hooked perhaps the helical-type limited slip differential will. This is truly a sign that Honda is serious about meeting the demands of performance enthusiasts.

Honda was named 2005 Vehicle Manufacturer of the Show for SEMA 2005 and the Civic was the official vehicle. The Honda Civic Si is expected to hit the market in December of this year.

Honda will also be campaigning two Civic Sis in the annual “25 Hours of Thunderhill” endurance race scheduled on December 3rd and 4th. This will be the first sanctioned event the Civic will be competing in.
